OVERVIEW

Wagners has been an industry leader in producing and delivering premixed concrete for more than 30 years. In addition to their growing network of permanent concrete plants servicing all end users of premixed concrete products, Wagners provides mobile and modular concrete plants for onsite concrete batching and delivery services for small, medium and large projects within the Resource, Infrastructure, Energy and Defence sectors throughout Australia and internationally. Wagners’ full-time technical support function determines standard and specialized concrete mix designs to meet customer requirements and monitors the performance of our concrete products against specifications and standards.

CHALLENGE

In batch plants, there is a mix of additives and chemicals combined with the concrete dust, which can lead to equipment corroding quite quickly, which can cause problems with the hoist not functioning properly. This can reach a point where they would have to replace the hoists more frequently. KITO ER2 hoists have an IP rating of 55 along with nickel-plated chain to prevent this type of corrosion to ensure they perform at optimum levels for the expected lifespan of the equipment. Wagners batching plants operate 24 hours a day, so any downtime in maintenance and repair is quite critical.

SOLUTION

The hoists were chosen specifically by the engineering and design team for functionality, reliability back-up support and serviceability. The cost was not a factor in this project as Wagners required equipment that is reliable & will not let them down when they are needed.

The KITO ER2SP hoists have been installed at the Wagner’s plant in Narangba and were set up in the upper levels of new batch plant to allow for service and maintenance of the plant. The 2-speed function allows for precise lifting & lowering of replacement parts within the plant. When not in use the beams & hoists can be retracted into the building out of the weather. For the critical placement of loads, Wagners opted for the dual speed hoist which allows for a slow function for placement of the load and a fast function for preparing the hoist for the next lift.
